About Our Worthy Grand Matron

Sister Danine N. Green Joined the Order of Eastern Star in 1989 under the
National Supreme Grand Council, the late Ill. James M. Boone,33ºMost  Puissant Sovereign Grand Commander/National Supreme Grand Patron and the late Dr. Elizabeth Moore National Supreme Grand
Matron; Metropolitan Grand Chapter, Sis. Marjorie Young Grand Matron;
Ruth Chapter #549, Sis. Mary Matthews. WM. Sister Green remained a loyal
member in good standing through the subsequent reorganization of The Supreme Grand Chapter of America where she has served in several positions for the 30 years
Sister Green was a dedicated member of Metropolitan State Grand Chapter
for 25 years. During this time Sister Green served as the Youth Supervisor for Dove of Peace Youth Circle for eight years. Under her tenure as supervisor she organized a project for Feed the Children foundation. And the youth circle adopted her child from Africa named Charity. Sis Green has held every elected and appointed position in her subordinate chapter (Ruth 549); held the state positions of Grand Ruth, Grand Marshall, Grand Associate Conductress and her final position in the Grand Chapter was the position of  Conductress of Metropolitan State Grand Chapter which she held for ten years. Lastly, she served as the Noble Commandress of Canary Court.
In 2010, Sister Green founded Geneva Chapter No. 1 in Metropolitan State Grand Chapter. Consisting of 18 members at the time of charter, this creation of this chapter increased Grand Chapter membership
by 15 new sisters. During her time as member of the Worthy Matron’s Council of Metropolitan, she presented and chaired the grand chapter’s first Matron’s Ball. During her tenure she proposed and chaired a “Sisters Only” bus ride to visit the OES Headquarters bringing together sisters from different jurisdictions to fellowship together. Sister Green stepped down from this post in 2013 and Geneva Chapter No. 1 continues to be a thriving chapter with more than half of its original charter members.
After a brief reprieve, Sister Green returned to the OES and founded Armentres Chapter No. 29 in Empire State Grand Chapter. Consisting of 17 members at the time of charter, the creation of this chapter increased Empire State Grand Chapter by 17 members 12 of which were new to the Order of
Easter Star. Nationally, Sister Green has served as a star point, worked at the registration desk for four years, assisted in setting up the chapter room for meeting, worked on a number of committees and is the founder and chair of the Black Women Rock Program which is a part of the National Convention.
Sister Green served as the State Grand Deputy of the Desert in Julia Grand Court. She was the National directress for Asthma and worked on various committees as assigned and requested. Throughout her time in the order, Sister Green has been invited to provide assistance, council and instruction to many sisters and fellow matrons. She always willing to help and takes her work very seriously. Sis Green has worked with the Alzheimer’s Foundation in honor of Sis. Armentres Holines, PGM, Breast Cancer in honor of the late Sis. Mary Matthews PAGM., St. Jude’s Children Foundation. Sis. Green is well

known for visiting and helping the senior members that can no longer come out, picking them up for lunch dates.  Beauty parlor visits and food shopping.  

In January 2022 Sis. Green returned to the National Supreme Grand Chapter working under the authority of the National Supreme Council A.& A.S.R. under the leadership of the Ill. Edward J. Chapman SR. 33ºMost  Puissant Sovereign Grand Commander/National Supreme Grand Patron and the late Sis. Kim Chapman, National Supreme Grand Matron as the founding Grand Matron of Geneva Grand Chapter, in the state of Delaware
